Hiring A Bike Mechanic

True Mobile Bike Mechanics is entering its 5th season serving Squamish and Whistler. This year we are expanding with a second van that needs a mechanic to service Whistler Full Time. We specialize in mountain bikes but work on all types of bikes, delivering accurate diagnostics, repairs, maintenance packages upgrades and builds. I’ve personally serviced the Sea-to-Sky corridor this whole time, so I deeply care about maintaining quality — for the right mechanic, there are excellent perks and independence.

What I Offer

• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (you choose your days)

• Schedule flexibility to maximize riding time through the seasons. Ride when its light out, wrench when its dark.

• Fully equipped indoor mobile space with lights, heater, and AC

• All new tools plus stocked wear parts and service parts in the space at all times

• Work in a clean, organized mobile shop without constant distractions
  

• Training and wrenching support

Who I’m Looking For

• 3–5 years experience as a bike mechanic. Can work alone, and can problem solve.

• Comfortable fully disassembling and reassembling bikes, including internals of levers, droppers, pedals, drivetrains and enjoy doing it with ease (not suspension)

• Enjoys working independently in a quiet, focused environment

• Able to produce roughly 6–7 billable labour hours per day

• Strong diagnostic skills and able to recommend repairs or upgrades without being pushy

• Takes pride in doing work properly and consistently and ability to communicate technical details to clients

Compensation

• $26–$28 per hour

• Bonus structure: after a minimum daily labour threshold, additional labour is split 50/50

• Commission on inventory sales and stock management

• Open to negotiation for the right person
